The MG Team

On January 1st, 2018, the WSIB effectively banned the use of nPB (1-bromopropane) in Ontario workplaces when it lowered the allowable airborne concentration from 1pp to 0.1ppm. nPB made a big splash in the market when it first appeared as a non-flammable cleaner for electronics, but as more toxicity data was produced over time, the health risks of this solvent looked worse and worse. Accordingly, regulators have been continually tightening the squeeze on nPB through the years and by now there are very few large professional users. As a result, the impact of this new regulation on the overall economy will be minor, however, for companies still using nPB, however, the time to change processes has come.

MG Chemicals offers a variety of non-flammable cleaners that can act as nPB replacements, such as 411 HFE Solvent and the 4120 Super HFE™ Electronic Cleaner. If the nPB ban is affecting your company, contact our technical support team so we can help find a solution for your process.

MG Chemicals will be exhibiting at the Southern Manufacturing and Electronics show on February 6 – 8, 2018 in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK.

This is the perfect occasion to discover or re-discover our extensive line of chemicals for electronics and our new products introductions for 2018:

Make sure to stop by our booth D100 to meet our technology experts and discuss how we can contribute to your success.

We look forward to meeting you there and discuss the many solutions we have to offer.

Between November 13th and 24th, 2017, the MG Chemicals employees of our Burlington manufacturing plant participated in a food donation campaign. Boxes were placed throughout the facility and 8 large boxes of non-perishable goods were delivered to the Family Services – Salvation Army – Burlington branch.

At MG Chemicals Ltd, we take pride in getting involved in our community by sharing with the less fortunate to make their holiday season more enjoyable.

We thank all our employees for their generous contribution and look forward to organizing more charitable activities.
