On September 15th, 2016, the Surface Mount Technology Association will hold its Toronto Chapter meeting. The meeting will address how to better understand and mitigate electronics Ruggedization concerns related to harsh environments that may impact electronic assemblies.

Amongst the panel of workshop subject matter experts will be Michel Hachey, Chief Technical Communicator, scientific officer, and regulatory specialist at MG Chemicals. He has been with MG Chemicals for more than 5 years as a technical support and communication specialist, and as the company’s scientific advisor. He is a member of the IPC standard working group for ultra thin conformal coating, and a former member of the ASTM committee on molecular spectroscopy.

Michel has a very broad and deep scientific background. Michel received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of New Brunswick in 1996. He was subsequently awarded the Chateaubriand postdoctoral fellowship at the CNRS laboratory in Strasbourg, France. He has authored over 20 scientific papers and is an expert in UV-Vis and infrared spectroscopy.

Michel will be sharing some valuable and information from his extensive knowledge on the subject.
